Joyce Meyer: “This Wisdom and Insight is Invaluable for You and Others”
My husband, Dave, and I have known Charlie and Jill LeBlanc for over forty years.
We’ve been blessed by their friendship as well as their partnership in ministry, when they led worship at many of our conferences. We’ve known them in good times and hard times and have seen them live out their faith in Christ when it was easy and when it wasn’t. Their commitment and diligence to seek God has been tested many times, and each time, He has helped them grow stronger in their determination to keep going in the most disappointing and painful events in their life.
When Charlie and Jill’s son, Beau, passed away after his shocking and traumatic battle with cancer, we were devastated with them and for them. The loss of a child is something I’ve never had to face, and I can only imagine the overwhelming grief it has caused them—mentally, emotionally, spiritually and even physically. And yet, in the face of this tragedy, even though it caused them to question God, they never abandoned their faith in Him. Knowing them the way we do, this is no surprise.
The journey that’s led them to write When Loss Comes Close to Home has impacted every single part of their being, and the wisdom and insight they’ve gained by walking through this experience is invaluable. It took great courage on their part to be transparent about their thoughts and emotions in the days following Beau’s death, and it inspires me. I believe their vulnerability is what makes this message so relatable and even hopeful for those who read it.
If you’ve lost someone dear to you, Charlie and Jill’s story will comfort and encourage you to go through your grieving process the way you need to do it…one step at a time. If you want to be a better comforter and encourager to others who are grieving, their story will help you understand how to do that too.
Charlie and Jill know what it means to really live for Jesus, and their passion is to help as many people as they can to personally experience the life Jesus died for them to have. I’m confident that you’ll discover help in your time of loss and grief in the pages of this book.
